A Quick Look at Dr. Steenblock’s Involvement with Stem Cell Based Healing & How It’s Done
Dr. Steenblock was an early proponent (1990s) for the use of umbilical cord blood and cord blood stem cells to treat a wide variety of other neurologic and non-neurologic diseases and medical conditions in both children and adults. In 2002 Dr. Steenblock began working closely with highly credentialed physicians in various clinics in Mexico who agreed to utilize pure cord blood stem cells in conjunction with protocols he developed. This line of research-oriented work was done well in advance of similar lines of inquiry and clinical research at such prestigious institutions as Duke University and the Medical School of Georgia. In addition, he helped spearhead a pilot study involving eight children with cerebral palsy treated (in Mexico) with cord blood stem cells during 2004-5 which demonstrated both safety and effectiveness.
Then, starting in 2005, Dr. Steenblock pioneered the harvesting and infusion of stem cell-rich bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) along with FDA approved pharmaceutical stem cell activators to successfully treat a wide range of chronic medical conditions and diseases.
Dr. Steenblock’s personalized stem cell-based approach to turning the tables on “treatment resistant” chronic diseases and medical conditions includes:
- Identifying and dealing with dietary, lifestyle, and other factors that tend to interfere with stem cell activity or which contribute to or complicate the body’s ability to fight disease. This includes screening for heavy metal toxicity, gut dysbiosis, chronic infections, hormonal abnormalities and more, then dealing with those that are shown to exist.
- In many older, sedentary and chronically ill people bone marrow stem cells tend to be inactive (senescent). To counter this Dr. Steenblock prods the patient’s bone marrow to make new, more vital stem cells by giving them injections of the FDA approved stem cell mobilizing drug Neupogen® for five (5) consecutive days. How does this work exactly? The mobilization of huge numbers of mostly senescent (poorly functioning/responsive) stem cells from the marrow switches on natural biological processes that result in the production of replacement stem cells. What Dr. Steenblock discovered is that in two weeks time this revved up replacement activity has produced upwards of 10 times more healthy stem cells than were present prior to the Neupogen® injections!
How is a Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) Treatment Done?
Typically, Dr. Steenblock harvests bone marrow from either a patient’s tibia (thick shin bone) or the iliac crest (hip bone). To do this he first deadens the area using a local anesthetic and then inserts a thin needle attached to a large syringe. He then draws the bone marrow up into the syringe. Most patients report that they are comfortable and relaxed during the collection process.
The collected stem cells are typically re-infused by intravenous drip. However, in some cases other methods of administering them are used.
The entire bone marrow harvesting and treatment process typically takes only a few hours.
